Participating in therapy is a gift you give yourself.  This choice reveals your personal desire to work toward obtaining greater strength, peace and fulfillment in your life.
Physical, emotional and environmental wellness all factor into one's mental health.
There are times when life just seems too much to handle.
Whether it is a current crisis (divorce, trauma, abuse, job loss, loss of a loved one) or something from your past that has been triggered by a new situation.
Uncertainty prompts us to pursue a change.

We are all created fully equipped with the ability to change, however we often choose to stay within our comfort zones.
Some common area's addressed include:

Anxiety, crisis, trauma, depression, relationship issues, stress, abuse, domestic violence, past emotional trauma or abuse, career issues, grief and loss, addictive behaviors, anger management, normal life changes (school, career, relationships, life transitions, retirement, etc.), spiritual concerns, adjustment issues (relocation, divorce recovery and uncoupling adjustment), identity concerns (GLBT), eating disorders, negative patterns and family conflict.

Parents:
Is your child driving you nuts?
Kids:  Do you feel your parents just don't understand?
The teenage years:
This is an exciting and challenging time as they long for independence yet are not quite ready to go solo.  Every teenager is created with a unique character and youth focused counseling creates opportunities for continued growth.  Sessions can focus on many things and often the focus will shift during the course of therapy.
Do most of your discussions end in arguments?
Is this just a phase they are going to grow out of?  Many times, children are not able to express what they are going through and often act out behaviorly.  Utilizing various techniques including Cognitive Behavioral, Solution Focused  and Creative therapies we will develop a trusting relationship and safe environment for your child to verbalize their thoughts and feelings.
Common area's addressed include:
Developing self esteem; increasing confidence; understanding relationships, creating safe coping skills, anger management, abuse, addictions, and establishing healthy communication skills.

What works best for one doesn't necessarily work for the next so my approach becomes tailored to meet the needs of the individual.

Skype and phone sessions can be arranged for those individuals not able to make it to the office.  Please note, the initial evaluation must take place in the office (face to face).
